Biography

Marcus St. Claire is a Trinidadian-born sculptor and installation artist based in Brooklyn. Working primarily in reclaimed wood, metal, and found objects, his practice investigates the Black male body in relation to domestic and spiritual spaces. His installations have been featured at the Studio Museum in Harlem and the Caribbean Contemporary Arts Fair.

Artist Statement

I build structures that hold memory the way a house holds its inhabitants—imperfectly, tenderly, with the marks of time visible in every surface.
